Anti-Ragging Policy
An anti-ragging policy has been implemented at Government General Degree College Salboniwhich includes strict guidelines and measures to prevent any form of harassment, bullying, or hazing among students. It usually involves awareness programs, disciplinary actions, and support systems for victims. These policies aim to create a safe and respectful environment for all students. UGC has mandated that all parents and students to submit anti-ragging-related affidavits to the institutions at the time of admission. The Education Directorate, Government of West Bengal also has directed the Principals, OICs, and TICs of both Government and Government-Aided colleges to take action against ragging, per a recent notification memo No. FD-763/2018, dated July 19, 2018.In conjunction with the UGC regulations and the direction of the West Bengal government, GGDC Salbonihasenforcedzero-tolerance policy by adopting number of stringent measures in recent years to prohibit any form of ragging in the campus. Guardians and students fill up Anti-ragging declaration affidavits during admission. At the beginning of every academic session the fresher students of the college are made aware of the ragging related rules and regulations through orientation program. NSS and IQAC of Government General Degree College Salboni takes the leading role in this anti-ragging awareness campaign. Campus activities and student interactions are regularly monitored to prevent and detect any instances of ragging. These policies aim to create a safe and respectful environment for all students.
Anti-Ragging Mechanism:
Anti-Ragging Committee of GGDC Salboni shall take immediate action on any information of the occurrence of ragging. The Anti-Ragging sub-committee is satisfied that for some reason, shall direct or order disciplinary action of the student or students concerned and also initiate action as per anti-ragging law.
However, there is no such case during last 5 years of the College.
