The Government General Degree College Salboni is situated in Koyma, Bhimpur a village of Salboni Block. Fertile soil on both sides of the Midnapore-Lalgarh road has earned for
it an enviable position in agriculture production. Also as the name ‘Salboni’ suggests the forest of Sal, Segun, Mahua enrich the beauty of the sight.
Salboni is a town with a police station in Medinipur Sadar subdivision of Paschim Medinipur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the location of a Reserve Bank of
India currency printing press, and is the proposed site of a steel plant. During World War II Salboni was the site of an air base of the

Welcome to the official website of Government General Degree College, Salboni. Economically poor and also academically backward people from Salboni and its adjacent area needed
such college for their development. Feeling this Government of West Bengal started this college as Government College. Foundation was done in 2012. This emerged the college with
such fascinating building through the inauguration by Honorable Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, Government of West Bengal on 14th July 2014. Practically it is the brainchild of
Mamata Banerjee, Honorable Chief Minister. The college is affiliated to Vidyasagar University, Midnapore (Affiliating letter pdf version). The college is expecting its expansion
in coming days.
