Mission & Vision of the College
Government General Degree College, Salboni, the foundation stone of which was laid in 2012, was officially inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister,Government of West Bengal on July 14,2014. With a fascinating
infrastructure and a considerably wide campus,the fundamental aim of establishing a higher educational institution at such a remote corner of the state (the Jangalmahal area) was to cater to the academic demands
of the poor and underprivileged students of this area who have suffered a long history of deprivation.The college has a vision to effect an academic uplift of the students and thereby bolster the socio-economic
conditions of living of the residents of Jangalmahal area.Affiliated to Vidyasagar University,Midnapore the college is currently running Undergraduate Honours Courses and UG General Courses. With the financial and
moral assistance of the Government of West Bengal, the college also intends to expand its academic horizon by introducing more Honours Courses in future in both the Arts and Science Streams.The college not only aims
at academic excellence but also puts emphasis on extra curricular activities and overall development of the students.The already successfully run a full Undergraduate course and the first batch of the college
graduated in the year 2017.
