Guide Line For Admission
Candidates looking for admission to the college for B.A. (Hons. & Gen.) and B.Sc. (Pure Science Gen.) are to apply online for the respective courses. For details please visit college
website www.salbonigovtcollege.org. The date and time for the online application process will be announced through the college website and the college notice board. The admission process
will start after the results are published by the West Bengal Higher Secondary Education each year.
Eligibility Criteria for UG
1. Eligibility criteria for admission in B.A. (Hons.)
Candidates passing Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council (List of the board/councils are listed below)
in the last three years (i.e. seeking admission in the year 2018, candidates have to pass 10+2 or equivalent in the year 2018/2017/2016) are eligible for apply for Honours course in 1. Bengali,
2. English, 3. History, 4. Philosophy, 5. Political Science, 6. Sociology, 7. Sanskrit, 8. Santali provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/ 4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects
including at least one language subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.

1. Bengali, 2. English, 3. History, 4. Philosophy, 5. Political Science.6. Santali, 7. Sociology 8. Sanskrit provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/ 4(Four) (where applicable)
recognized subjects including at least one language subject.
3. Eligibility criteria for admission in B.Sc. (Hons.)

4. Eligibility criteria for admission in B.Sc. (General)
Candidates passing Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council (List of the board/councils are listed below)
in the last three years (i.e. seeking admission in the year 2018, candidates have to pass 10+2 or equivalent in the year 2018/2017/2016) are eligible to apply for General course with subjects
1. Physics, 2. Chemistry, 3. Mathematics, provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/ 4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.
Note 1: Candidates passed vocational course can apply in B.A. General course only.
Note 2: A candidate passing 10+2 level in the year- 2015 or earliar seeking admission in the year 2018 with above mention criteria can also apply through online mode after getting special
permission from the secretary, U.G. council, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore.
Note 3: It is also mentioned that the admission is provisional unless or until the candidate is registered to Vidyasagar University through this college. Any suppression of facts,
found in future, will cancel the admission.
